Sonhaven hours are Monday through Friday 7:30am – 1:30pm. Each student is encouraged to work at their own pace. Each is given an individual calendar with daily challenges to meet. Upon completion the work is turned in to be reviewed. Character is built as a student realizes he can reach the goal put before them and then is honest in the completion of the work. There is a sense of accomplishment in doing a job well done.
Ministering the Word of God is of the utmost importance and each day is started with devotions and singing and prayer. Each is precious to the Lord. Different ethnicities and churches are represented at Sonhaven. There is a place here for your children and a shoulder to lean on.
Friends are made for life. Older students help younger students. Each learn from the other and build a special bond. From a young age children are taught that there is a special plan for their lives.
Sonhaven is all about experiencing new things in life. Whether it is going to a farm and feeding a baby calf or looking through a microscope at the wonders of God’s creation, children are challenged in so many new ways.
Children are taught new songs and are learning to sing in american sign language. The “wings of praise” dance and drama ensemble encourages others with their spirit-inspired interpretation of God’s music.
It’s the personal touch that matters. No question is unanswered. Children are taught to think and learn independently. Field trips encourage learning in a unique envoronment.
